Emma’s work is a document of life, an observation of the day to day. Wildlife, people and things that are common to us all. The characters that emerge from those places however evoke a different world of imagination, dream and nightmare.
Emma is a highly skilled traditional printmaker; a master of etching, intaglio, relief, collagraph, mono-printing and many other processes. She is interested in these printmaking techniques for their mark making qualities rather than their ability to make multiples, so much of her work is either unique or only available in small hand printed editions.
Emma is a printmaker/painter/teacher working in the North West of England. She exhibits nationally and has been awarded the Michael Rothenstein Trophy, the Artichoke Print workshop prize, the Gavin Graham Gallery Award and was a major Lowick House Print Workshop Award Winner.
